The HOLLYWOOD SHOW: LOVE Among The LEGENDS

Hollywood is just a small district in LA, but “HOLLYWOOD” is a huge fantasy that has spawned a multitude of dreams consumed by billions of fans all over the world. Some Hollywood fantasies come and go like a flash-in-the-pan or a sitcom that flops in previews. Others become hits, reruns creating icons that dominate sections of our brains, stimulating and impressing us, especially when we’re young and impressionable. They shape us as we grow up “on” them, their characters raising us on their stories, feeding us their dialogue, creating “motion picture memories” in the multiplex theaters of our minds. Indeed, the remembrance of special scenes from our favorite shows and films is sometimes even more powerful—and Proustian—than our own real-life recollections… especially when our real lives aren’t quite what we’d like for them to be.

Writers, producers, directors, crew and even the folks in accounting all contribute to creating Hollywood fantasies of romance, action, comedy, tragedy, triumph, love and adventure. But the actors—the stars!—are the ones who bring these fantasies vividly to life for us, literally embodying our dreams, not just through their (often fantastic) bodies, but via their talents, passions, the fire in their eyes and their often bigger-than-life “personalities.” Sometimes the characters these actors play touch us even more deeply than our own friends and family members. Then the actor becomes like a god or a goddess to us. Of course, we don’t worship them like gods or goddesses (usually), but we give them the equally reverent name of “star” or “celebrity.”

This is why the Hollywood Show, the world’s biggest celebrity autograph and collectibles convention, attracts so many fans eager to purchase signed photos and other memorabilia, as well as spend a few precious, personal moments with the actual human being behind the fantasy—the living, breathing Hollywood star who may have played a huge “role,” not just in your favorite movie or TV show, but in your life.

I’d never been to a Hollywood Show before this past weekend, but I must confess to being a fan of more than a few Hollywood fantasies. So I was delighted to be have the opportunity to interview some of these unforgettable celebrities, stars, icons, role models, sex symbols, heartthrobs, character actors and legends at the most recent Hollywood Show which was held, appropriately enough, in the middle of Hollywood itself at the sprawling Loews Hotel. Right now, even as I write this, my poor overworked editors are busy downloading dozens of fabulous interviews that they will soon edit into some kind of Dr. Suzy goes to the Hollywood Show highlight clip for YouTube with the full, uncensored versions on DrSusanBlock.Tv.

Uncensored? When most people hear “Hollywood,” they think family entertainment. The big entertainment corporations try to keep that image whitewashed and squeaky clean. But there’s another side of Hollywood that’s even older than the stars in the sidewalk, and that’s the XXX side. Production of erotic films and “stags” started almost immediately after the invention of the motion picture. Dirty Hollywood has evolved alongside mainstream Hollywood, using the same technology and often some of the same artists and technicians, even some of the same stars. Nevertheless, events honoring Hollywood have almost always, adamantly ignored the porno wing of the ‘wood, even if a few crossover adult stars manage to squeeze into them.

That’s why it’s particularly exciting that the venerable old Hollywood Show, for the first time in its 34-year history, featured an adult entertainment hall filled with the Hall-of-Famers, MILFS, GILFS and legends of Hollywood’s “Golden Age” of X-rated motion pictures. Over here, ladies and gentlemen, we have great Hollywood memories, and around the corner, some amazing Hollywood mammaries!

Indeed, many of the Golden Age’s premiere stars were there—at least, the living ones!—including my longtime friend-cum-crossover-superstar Ron Jeremy (winner of the DrSuzy.Tv award for “Most Miraculous Recovery” of 2013), inspirational pornstar-cum-sex-educator Nina Hartley (beloved by both male and female fans alike), the original platinum porn princess Seka (who just penned an exciting new autobiography Inside Seka), the ultimate “Taboo” MILF Kay Parker (winner of the DrSuzy.Tv award for “Most Intimate Interview” of 2013), sweet porn power couple Alexandra Silk and Luc Wylder (promoting their sex surrogate work and “Sex Across America” project), Howie Gordon aka Richard Pacheco (winner of the DrSuzy.Tv award for “Best Porn Star Memoir” of 2013), sultry Ginger Lynn (my guest the night the LAPD illegally raided my show—for which I sued them and won a nice settlement—back in 2000!), the eternally lovely Veronica Hart aka Jane Hamilton (on her way to China where she’s now a sex educator), the eternally dying Robert “Corpsy” Rhine of Girls and Corpses magazine (winner of the DrSuzy.Tv award for “Most Morbid&rdquoWink, beaming new mom Tera Patrick (one of my favorite DrSuzy.Tv guests and already a “legend,” though still in her thirties), Kelly Nichols, Kitten Navidad aka Kitty Galore (appropriately enough, one of her most ardent fans was dressed as Batman), Amber Lynn, Roy Karch, pretty-in-pink Alana Evans and the “queen of porn” herself, “the world’s most famous adult entertainer,” Jenna Jameson. I had the great honor and pleasure of interviewing them ALL over this amazing weekend—except for Jenna (who I’d already interviewed for Playboy TV when she was but a wide-eyed starlet way back in 1996) who suddenly left her table shortly after she arrived, amidst a Hollywood-style flurry of salacious rumors.
